I use the sleeping aid call SIMPLY SLEEP every darkness...is within a karma of addiction?
I started taking Simply Sleep about a year ago, an over-the counter sleep aid thats the same ingredient used in Tylenol PM, but in need the Tylenol part...its just Diphenhydramine. It says to lift 1-2 pills a night, but I find that if I take a 1/2 to 3/4 of a pill, I'll sleep great through the whole darkness and wont have morning drowsiness.
Now, my question is...can this become addicting to do and/or harmful to my body? The box say "non-habit forming"..and I even asked my doctor and she said that if Im only taking half to 3/4 of a pill nightly it should be fine b/c its only the sleeping ingredient and nought else. But I still feel a little uneasy about taking something every dark.
Ive tried falling asleep without it and its very difficult...plus if I dont take it and I in actual fact do fall asleep, I will definitely wake up within the middle of the night and not be able to fall support asleep. I also exercise regularly and am at a normal weight and on a good nightly agenda...so should I stick with what works or am I harming myself?
Best Answer: Hi: I respect most doctors, but most of them have the philosophy of "pills, pills, pills" to solve so abundant issues. So it does not surprise me that your doctor said it is ok to take your pill every night. Almost all bottles of Diphenhydramine right to be heard it is to be used for OCCASIONAL sleeplessness. As far as "non-habit forming" goes, virtually anything can be habit forming----cell phones, TV, computers, iPods, etc. I suppose 1/2 to 3/4 of a pill is not a big issue, but I will still leave you near a list of more natural methods for good sleep. The catalogue is so long that reading it might put you to sleep :-) What helped me a lot to fall asleep, especially when my mind be racing, was to lie surrounded by bed and listen to relaxation CDs, especially those that contain someone speaking with relaxing music in the background. The combination of voice and music is intensely soothing. Many of these CDs are available on eBay for very low prices. A warm bath is a great mode to help you to sleep. If you can’t take a bath, you can tender yourself a foot massage with slightly warm polish oil, sesame oil, or castor oil from a robustness food store. A helpful technique is to relax your body one part at a time. So you could relax your feet, your lower legs, upper legs, moving up from your lower belly up to your chest, etc., until your in one piece body is relaxed. Of course, guided relaxation methods can help, imagining yourself in the country, the sand, or whatever is most soothing to you. If you have annoying thoughts or personal issues that run through your mind when you are trying to sleep, you might have to promise with those issues first. You might want to talk to a counselor or therapist nearly that. I suggest avoiding prescription sleeping pills unless nothing else helps. There are herbs that can abet you to sleep, eg, valerian root, kava kava, chamomile, hops, passion flower, skullcap. Probably, valerian root and kava kava are the best. You have to keep surrounded by mind that it can take a few weeks for some herbs (including valerian) to build up in your system earlier they work. The minerals calcium and magnesium might be helpful for sleep. You can also try 5-HTP, trytophan, or melatonin (about 3 mg). I would not take melatonin for over a month unless your doctor says it is ok.

diphenhydramine is merely Benedryl, it's an antihistamine..and non-addicting.. it's mainly for allergies.. but one of it's main side effects is drowsiness.. so it's a great sleep aid. i think you'll be okay. an get it at your health food store.what is a knott surrounded by you posterior?
I agree near Elyse. Try Valerian. Its all natural and you can find it in the condition food store. You can also try melatonin, another all natural remedy. I take within liquid form when I am having a sleepless night, and it works. Simply put, Simply Sleep is a chemically made over the counter drug. After time, it can cause problems with your liver. Simply Sleep can also cause nightmares after taking it for a long length. It can cause stomach problems, double vision, increased heart rate...this is to name a few. It's an antihistimine. If you take Benadryl for allergies every hours of daylight for a month, you'll be fine. Habits you don't want: heroin, coke, etc. Why? physical addiction is bad enough, but you'll also crave them and feel resembling you can't function w/o being on them. This cannot happen with diphenhydramine. There is no instrument to cause your body to go into withdrawals when you stop taking it. Also, in attendance is nothing 'fun' or rewarding about being on, primarily, Benadryl. Just go with what works. Especially if it doesn't give you a groggy awful reaction when you wake up. You'll be fine. (liver toxicity in diphenhydramine? I'd like to see that source... Also valerian isn't exactly biddable for you. See Sloan Kettering's website for research on valerian and its health risks. Natural =/= safe. See: belladonna, nightshade, etc.)Why do almonds raison d`¨ºtre me?
I've been have trouble sleeping for as long as I can remember. And I've always taken tylenol p.m. It used to be just when I had to run to school, and I'd take it at night so I could return with to sleep early and stay asleep. But when I got a job and have to get up early on weekends, I started taking it everyday. After a while I could not fall asleep, n event how tired I was, If I didn't take one, than it turned to two. I got addicted and it be terrible, and I asked myself the same question you did "Should I stick next to what works?" Although I knew I was harming myself. My doctor finally told me to grasp melatonin, they have it in pill form or liquid. She said it is inbred, so it's not addictive at all. It took a while for me to get off of the tylenol, but the melatonin works unbelievably well. I like the liquid better because it starts to work in 20 minutes, whereas the pill takes closer to an hour. But they are both very effective and I categorically recommend you try it. I get to sleep quickly and I don't wake up within the middle of the night. Also in the morning I'm not tired. I know I didn't answer your question just about "Simply Sleep" and if it's addictive or not. But I wanted to tell you to try what I use because I know you won't get addicted and it works really powerfully.Bottle of Vodka, sharp spear, Duct cartridge?
