Best Answer: Nah they are not bad they hurt only when you get them the first time because of the pressure that they enjoy to put your teeth in place to that's the only pain rob some advil and you can use it for the pain and don't eat hard food so that you wont brake the brackets put away soft foods like mash potatoes bananas don't drink dark pops because they all right stank your teeth don't eat gum either. it doesnt hurt dont worry-it is just a long process and it taste kinda bad they give u a band on ur molars fiist, to see ur size and stuff first theu put this positioner entity is ur mouth, it makes your mouth stretch a lkot so they can see ur teeth, it will bother u for a minute or 2 but u will get used to it, u keep that entity on the WHOLE time then there are these things that look like shots and stuff, i get really freaked out when i first saw them but actually, they dont go in ur mouth! this is the cement that they put on ur braces next they stick the braces on ur teeth **the cement kinda tastes bad! they do this the first time and every time u get them tightened: they will put the rubber band on ur braces with things that look like sisscors (they dont hurt) after that they put the wire-this is the most anoying part wreak after they slip it in ur mouth, they have to cut it to make it fit right after that is it!(the process is about 35 minutes) Ur done but after u do it, ask ur doctor for dental wax, dental cotton balls, and rubber cover up of the things that's really nice roughly getting braces is the care the orthodontists show you. They'll probably show you how to brush correctly. Another time you might feel pain surrounded by your mouth is if the braces brush against your lips or cheeks. It might cut them a little bit & the skin can start to peel here. It just feels like you enjoy a mouth ulcer. The nice thing about this is that you are given wax after you bring back braces. What you do with the wax is you peel it apart in little pieces and after you put it on over the part of the braces that keeps hitting the side of your mouth. This keeps it from adjectives you. ***each person is different i bleed a little on the first day and i put a few cotton ball in my mouth for like 3 minutes when u get home use ACT mouthwash and for the first hour, ur teeth may be for a while numb so drink mainly fluids-clear fluids then for the first day or 2 ur teeth may be a bit sensitive so stick with eating soup, pasta, pudding, jello, beans, yogurt, custard, fries, milkshakes, ice cream, and soft foods-avoid straws..When it comes to food, you really own to be careful. The orthodontists say that you can't chew gum, eat sticky food, guzzle pretzels, etc. Basically anything that could possibly stick to the braces or brake them is a bad idea. But I've had braces for resembling.6 years (o.O) hahaha and I've found ways around this. If you really like gum, for instance, get mints instead. Truthfully, I am a gum addict, and I hold always been. In all my experience I haven't have problems with it and my braces. I've figured out that gums like Orbit, Stride, 5, and Trident (for example) don't really stick to my braces. The giant bubbalicious quality and crap does, stay away from those. If you can give up gum altogether though, that's best. When it comes to sticky candy, don't go eating any Sugar Daddies or anything, only as an example. Most candy I can eat though. I eat twizzlers all the time, which is something they advocate against. They never stick. When it comes to like, pretzels for example, you can still eat them but eat the gaunt ones...don't even try the thick rods or the huge pretzels. The only food I've really ever had trouble beside is broccoli. It sticks in your braces. It comes out really easily but it's annoying if you eat it within public, because it gets caught. Eventually, it washes away in your mouth (if you don't enjoy time to brush after or something every night use Peroxyl mouthwash for like a week to keep ur gums storng from cuts and use dental wax and rubber coverups so u wont seize blisters, they hurt a little but arent that bad. avoid sleeping on ur side, try to keep ur skipper straight up for a couple of days every morning and every night use the Peroxyl mouthwash again for 2 weeks then after that just use ACT mouthwash to hang on to ur teeth and gum s healthy. get some Super floss, made for braces-i sugest elictrical toothbrushes they keep ur mouth cleaner One concluding tip: eventually, you'll probably get rubber bands.WEAR THEM. They're a hassle, but they help you catch your braces off faster. I've probably had my braces for an extra, unnecessary 3 years because I don't wear my rubber bands, and I can't appear to get in the habit of it dont worry-trust me- i own had my braces on for almost 2 years, i just got em bad about four months ago-i luv my new smile!and my teeth were bleak

No, don't worry. It doesn't hurt when you're getting the braves on, but I'm not going to lie, it hurts nearly 2 hours after the procedure is done. So, yeah that's coming up. So be ready. But let me give you some warning that I should have done: Take Tylenol, or your local pain killer PRIOR to disappearing your home to go to the Orthodontist. That will be less pain for when the " pain-time" comes.

do you mean 5/28/09? and 6/3/09? wow. confusing. anyway. braces do not hurt when you get them on. they are just glueing the brackets on. i own to say, when you get the o-rings (colored part of bracket), it hurts similar to hell. but lasts about 2 seconds. so you can carry. the day after, and about 2 weeks later, living hell. sorry. it's worth it thoughWhat am I gettn myself into?? hold to...
I have braces. When I first got them, they hurt a lot. But, they don't hurt so bad that you won't be capable of concentrate. What I suggest is taking some type of pain killing medicine such as: ibuprofen or tylenol or motrin. They really aid. Also, chewing on sugar free gum helps you to not concentrate on the pain. Good Luck!I broke my bottom invisible retainer, i am...
im not going to lie, because yes they do hurt, but after you've slept one hours of darkness with them, your pretty much used to them :) before i got mine my friends be making huge deals about them, and staying off arts school with them! i just think that if you can manipulate a bit of pain you'll be fine, and even if you cant ..the pain wil have gone by the time your exams start honestly, thee "pain" last for about 2 days honest !Do we involve fluoride within our toothpaste?
By the time your exam comes up, you'll be mostly used to them. The worst days are the first two or three days after getting them on and after getting them tightened. No, don't worry. haha all right its going to really bad for the first day or 2 but then you'll grasp used to the pain. i would honestly recommend you eat something that will require you to chew a lot so that your teeth will start to shift within a more ease method. it will hurt to chew but i found out that after each adjustment, eating a fast-food burger (like a double cheese burger from mcdonalds) will give support to get the pain to a shorter time. and y rnt you ever on COD? i havent ever seen you on but i own you on my friend's list and your not listed as pending. my problem be the spacing in bottom jaw so i only needed braces for 2 years. but bad need a retainer for 2 years after (only at night). i finished my braces this time last year so im moving on with the retainer. IMPORTANT: wear your retainer when you acquire the braces off! i kept good track of it but got apathetic and didnt want to put it in one night and i got slothful the next night and i forgot about it for the subsequent 2 weeks and when i put them in, that night was a living hell!Related Questions...
