Wearing Rubber Bands next to Braces?
I just got rubber bands today for my braces (I've have them on since March), and I have them in a triangle shape, which looks absolutely unforgivable because it makes it look like I have fang!
Anyways, when I asked my ortho how long I had to have them on for, she wouldn't give me an answer, she said it adjectives depended on if I wore them all the time.
If I wear them 24/7, except for eating, so I get them rotten as soon as possible, about how long with it take? I know it vary, but on average, how long did it take you?
I have a slight overbit, My teeth are already strait, which I wanted, but my ortho say she wants to fix my overbit.
Everyone keeps saying they have rubber bands right before their braces came stale, does that mean mine are getting closer to comming off realitivly soon (say 12 months?)
My ortho says that my teeth appear to be moving pretty fast, so, I guess that's a good thing. My sister doubled up near her rubber bands when she had braces, and it seemed to speed up the process, but I don't want to move them far rear and then have to wear something to move them forward...

Best Answer: It's strong to answer that because I don't know how far the rubber bands are supposed to be moving your teeth. How crooked your teeth/bite is will affect all of that. I had to wear my rubber band for like 3 months, right before I got my braces stale. Since your braces are pretty new, I'd expect around 4-5 months. When is your next orthodontist appointment? The rubber bands won't be done beside before you go back contained by again. Btw, fangs are cool! Just go with it. Crack a kid about your "fangs," and you'll feel track less self-conscious. And remember that the braces will be worth it in the end. Your teeth are going to look awesome.
