I have neglected my teeth for many years and now at age 42 find myself beside dental insurance and went to the dentist.
I knew it was fruitless and I have no else to blame but myself.
I am sure that after a while I will be able to accept it mentally - 42 , and wearing dentures ! Just struggling beside being so young and waking up and looking surrounded by the mirror at a toothless mouth. :(:( It will take time but I am certain I can get over the mental module of this.
What will life be like with full dentures ?
Will particular foods ( like steak ) still be a problem ?
Are the " glues " they have immediately make it secure and easy to settlement with day to day ?
I guess lately tell me what it was like when you go through this difficult time and where you are at today .....

Best Answer: I don't have dentures, but both of my parents enjoy them & I've seen their daily struggles, so I can understand your niggle in a way. My mom got dentures when she be 40 and she was heartbroken but I think she is pretty much over it immediately, hopefully since it's been like 14 years. Anyways, both of my parents had a intricate time at first eating certain foods that they had to chew. I know that it took them probably a month previously they could get back to their regular diets. Eating really chewy foods like steaks, and things shouldn't bug you especially if you've have the dentures for sometime. Yes, the glues are secure. Most of the time, when your dentures first arrive to you, and you wear them, they may not fit correctly - causing you to hold to go back and get them shaved or something, be paid sure you don't leave the dentist's office without them man perfectly fitted for your mouth. Otherwise you'll have to worry in the region of them falling out or being really uncomfortable and too tight. My dad loves having dentures, he other made me feel better & crack up laughing by making funny faces and doing things with them. Hahaha it sounds stupid, but when you're resembling 5 years old it can seriously make your day better. And don't be too down going on for it, eventually they will grow on you, right now just may be the hardest part!! :0)

I'm so sorry about your situation! I don't have dentures or any experience with them but agree to me tell you about me wearing a retainer with one tooth on it -it sucks! I'm sick of have something on the roof of my mouth it is so annoying! I'm getting an implant soon thank god. I don't know what I would do if I had to wear it all the time forever approaching a denture. Apparently that is the worst thing with dentures- have your palate covered. But you can do it! I think you will like your smile with dentures! And if you can I totally reccomend implant-supported dentures- they are apparently so so so much easter to agreement with. With just dentures I don't think you can really chomp through like you would, and dentures arnt good over time. When you loose teeth your bone looses stimulation and starts to melt away- this is why you involve to get your dentures adjusted every so often. Since you are so young at heart by the time you are old and creaky your dentures probably won't be comfy no matter what you try. With implants your bone is stimulated and will support your dentures method better untill you are old even. This is why I would personally reccomend implants for you. Good luckRelated Questions...
