What are the positions within the mouth where on earth oral thrush affects?

My mother is 46,has hyper thyroid and has recently undergone a topical corticosteroid treatment.Since afterwards she has had white patches on her tongue, white spots on the inside cheeks and a whitish insightful pocket like area where the lower cheek meet the gum line around the lower jaw. When felt by the tongue an disquiet is felt. The physician diagnosed them to be thrush. Are they actually thrush? Can thrush affect all these areas? Please direction.
Best Answer: Yes thrush is common on the tongue (a furry white appearance) and back of the throat. They are the most common places but it can also be contained by the vestibule (between your lips and teeth) and inside of cheeks. If you want to look it up on medical sites the proper name is oral candiasis. It's easily treated near oral antibiotics but it may be recurrent due to the corticosteroids (the fungi thrive off them). Chat to her doctor about managing it. Edit: i stingy oral antifungals not antibiotics
