Infant bohns nodules ?
My infant is 2 1/2 months old and has a spot that looks resembling a tooth coming through the front of her gum. it is white and hard like a tooth i took her to the doctors today and they said it be a bohns nodule. This spot showed up on sunday after a long sat night of a cranky newborn she was so uncomfortable and have been showing all the signs of teething for a week prior to the spot showing up. It showed up close to a tooth and all but I dont know she is my 5th child. Has anyone else had this. I thought it strange for a tooth to come out the front side of the top gum a bit than out the bottom of the gum and it is off to the left somewhat.
Answers: Bohn's nodules are not actually teeth. They are possibly derived from salivary glands or from something called the dental lamina. They are rather common in newborn. They are nothing to worry in the region of and should go away with time. So, no entail to worry about these, everything should be simply fine.
