What are spacers?
OK I'm getting spacers in 4 hours and i don't know what they are or what they do. I"m getting braces in resembling 2 weeks. Please tell me what they do? And does it hurt if so what can i do to make it stop
Answers: spacers are little blue rubber band that go between your back teeth. they variety the space between the teeth wider, so it's less uncomfortable to put within braces or an expander.
if it hurts, here are some suggestions:
*suck on ice or a popsicle
*press full cloves against the gums (will numb the pain)
*use oragel to numb it
*use ibuprofren (tylonel will actually craft the pain last for more days because your teeth will slow down moving. also, tylenol does not do anything for inflamation)
*try to guzzle soft foods, actually very soft. no bananas, or intact fruit. applesauce, smoothies, peanut butter, yogurt, pudding, oatmeal, your pick
the pain WILL go away after a few days. if it is still is fruitless after a few days, go to your dentist. they can adjust the spacers so they don't hurt.
They are small rubber bands that are inserted between your teeth. They are near to make room for the metal cap things that stir on your back molars. You can't floss (they will come out) Also if the rubber band ones are too big, they may own to put a metal one in. It will feel really strange, like you have a popcorn curnal contained by between them, but you will get used to it. there little rubber band thatg go around your teeth to space them out so there primed for braces. They hurt but only for like the first morning i dunno wat you can do maybe take some headache relievers ask ur dentist!
They are plastic shapes that go inbetween ur teeth to make space for the braces. It hurts the year after u get them on alittle it will feel awkward...
Good Luck :]
