Are protein shakes discouraging for you and how much is too much?

I'm pretty skinny and I'm about 133 lbs. and 6ft. I don't want to be jacked out of my mind, I just want to put on a little extra solidity.
Best Answer: Protein shakes alone won't make you "jacked out". I only wish it be possible. You can't eat yourself into a muscle bound body. The reason people pilfer protein supplements is because they cannot eat enough or afford enough meat to sustain a bodybuilding regiment. For example, someone resembling you would need over 200g of protein daily and unless you are filthy rich and likes to chomp through 5-6 meals everyday, you simply cannot take in ample protein from food to build the muscles. The downside of protein is that people do not drink enough water and they do not bring back a balanced intake of vitamins and minerals. This is important because your body needs (among oodles other things) calcium to use the protein. But to use calcium it needs such things are vitamin-D and magnesium.

It takes years to become "jacked out of my mind" so don't worry just about that. And protein shakes aren't bad at all its just middle-of-the-road everyday protein in an easy to eat form. You're enormously skinny so start working out more and definitely take the protein.

They are very beneficial in a one hour window after a concrete workout. Otherwise they wash though your system fairly quickly making them roughly speaking as beneficial as taking multivitamins. u want to add weight, donate more carbs to your diet. This increases your ability to exercise more. But don't do one without the other..or you'll increase only surrounded by size, and not fitness level.

No, they are not bad for you. They can be part of a good diet. Taking them is not going to make you jacked. They just help by adding together extra protein into your diet which in turn helps to build muscle. But you do need to put your time surrounded by a the gym or they are a waste of money.
