How repeatedly should I do push up workouts?

I've set a goal this summer to be able to do 100 perfect form push ups by the expire of summer (I can do 50 right now.) I've started off by doing 4 sets of 20 push ups with 60 second rest and then a 5th set maxout. Every few days, I plan to add a push up to each set, and by the wind up of summer, be around 35-40 push ups per set. I used to bench press, and I know you shouldn't bench more than 3 days a week. Is this the same with push ups? If I did this workout six times a week, would I see signifigantly better results, or just risk hurting myself?
Best Answer: What your doing is awesome! Usually it's fitting to do this type of workout every other day. If you do it too much in one week, like every daytime, you can be at risk of being injured. Bench pressing and push ups aren't quite the same when it comes to how several days of the week its safe to do it. It mostly depends on how much you do or how long.

What's Your Regular "Work Out" Routine?

push ups involve the same muscles as benching...but sadly i recommend neither... i resembling the dumbbell press.. you can't cheat with one arm over the other...and try variations on push ups... staggered and stuff.. and don't forget do them on the knuckles so you don't ruin your wrists

Losing Weight?? OR going ailing?

If you did it 6 days a week you would hurt yourself. Do it no more than 3 times a week. If you feel sore, don't do it even if you already have a day of rest

is it critical to steal supplements if you...

benchpressing is much more dangerous than doing pushup, pushups, your using your own body weight, I'd say aloud the more you do it, the better results but just work up to it then your body will be used to working out everyday
