Answers: My BMR, as measured by my doctor, is 3700 calories per day at rest. I hold a very large muscle mass which is why I stipulation so many calories. Muscle uses more calories.
How did you check your BMR? If it wasn't done through testing by a doctor consequently it wont be near accurate.
The calculations used by Internet sites are base on the average person with an average metabolism and an average muscle mass....they can not be trusted.
yes it is true, I dont know if to be precise the exact numbers, but yea, bodybuilders eat A LOT to maintain adjectives that muscle because they're bodies are a furnace and they're metabolism is through the roof so they constantly have to be eating. Thats why to burn lubricant you need to build muscle because you burn more calories and thats what you want, a lean muscular body, duh!! Lean mass is all that burns calories and I doubt the number is 50 calories per time. Twenty might be a bit more accurate. Some studies indicate even less than that.
If you are 200 lbs and have a bodyfat percentage (the material indicator of how many calories you need) of 18%, that means you own approximately 160 lbs of muscle. If you are trying to gain muscle size you would need to eat between 2700-3500 calories per year based upon your body type (endo, meso or ectomorph) without achievement too much extra fat. Its a balancing feat to eat just ample to grow muscle but not get flabby at the same time.
