Working profusely of hours at 16 years old-fashioned?
I currently working in a Kitchen for lb5.50/hour and working 14 hours a day sometimes. Is this legalized? I get really tired and I'm worried what will happen beside my health only self 16. I get paid pretty economically, so do I stick with it or say something?
Answers: No, it is NOT legalized. The law states the following: -
1) You may only work a maximum of 8 hours a time, or 40 hours per week.
2) You MAY NOT work night shifts
The above assumes you have vanished school. If you're still at school - or college - next you are further restricted: -
1) During term time, you can only work for two hours on weekdays and Sundays and for eight hours on Saturdays or arts school holidays.
2) During a school holiday, you can work for up to five hours on a week day or a Saturday and no more than two hours on a Sunday.
3) You CANNOT work beforehand 7 am or after 7 pm.
So, yes, by working you more than 8 hours a day, your employer is in breach of youth employment decree.
By the way, this question would enjoy been better asked in the decriminalized section.
Your health won't suffer... it's not detrimental to start body building at 16, so surely it's safe for your health to be working greatly of hours. UK law states that 16-18 year olds must not work for longer than 8 hours a day or 40 hours a week. You could technically lay down the directive to your employer if you think you're working too much, but if it's a company with lower than 10 staff then most employment rules are very relaxed. Hi , no working 14 hour days will not destroy you , doctors work far more hours , your young this is the time when you have the life and stamina to sustain you , my only complaint is that you are paid around minimum wages, this is as a result of the flood of foreign occupation imported by positive governments to control wages, the European working time directive say that an employer can not force to work more than 48 hours , in fact you enjoy to sign this right away if you wish to work more than this , listen hard work never hurt ,purely look for a more interesting job get some recommendation and get a better wages
Depends on where you live. It can't be that impossible if you are staying there! If you don;'t like it than quit. You won;t bring anything glamorous, but fast food places are always hiring SAY SOMETHING ABOUT IT,OR GET A PARTIME JOB NOT
A FULLTIME.
