Best Answer: I didn't really gain or lose much to speak of. My doctors told me to eat anything I felt like eating, plus I be on Emend and I had no nausea at all. I was on chemo for 16 weeks. It really depends on what sort of chemo drugs you may be taking. I didn't hold much of an appetite, but tried to eat things which were healthy and apposite for me. One of the problems with chemo for me was not so much the nausea, but certain chemo drugs can explanation sores in your mouth, which makes eating deeply harder. A lot of this can be minimized by drinking cold things or sucking on ice while getting the actual infusion. Also, drink a lot of water for a couple of days beforehand your next treatment. Biotine is a great brand of toothpaste and mouthwash which helps to eliminate the dry-mouth syndrome and also assassinate germs which could allow the sores to breed. Chemo is not just one drug, its a great deal of drugs and it really depends on what they're giving you, at what frequency, etc. I would not recommend it as a way to lose weight. If you're losing weight, later you are succumbing to the disease and this is a time when you really need to keep your strength up. Chemo doesn't kill bad just the bad stuff. It kills rotten the good stuff, too, so the best thing is to replenish your body and your mind to keep up the clash. My best wishes to you. You can do this!

I started at about 106 lb and ended a couple of months latter (AC chemo) at about 96. But it actually varied inside chemo cycles. I would lose a little bit for the week after chemo, then gain a little bit pay for the second week. Then I'd get another infusion and start the cycle all over.
