Diabetic type 2 , Numbers swing Correct ?

My friend is a type 2 diabetic , I am as well , she is sometimes off the wall checking and checking ,her BS . Anyway , today she went to the store , did her laundry , and later has to walk up 14 stairs , of course she needed to to this 3 times to seize it all up .. She immediately checks her BS , its 207 , Isn't this exercise ? And shouldn't you wait a bit until that time checking it ? She checked it again , went down to 158, then 130 , In a non-diabetic do their levels rise after doing something physical ? and how do they come and go from a type 2 .. She' uses so many strips , unreal , her doc told her to check once or twice a week , but then again I understand , I check every other time .. Info please ?
Best Answer: When you exercise, your muscles need more fuel -- and that fuel is GLUCOSE. SO when you exercise, your liver pumps out extra glucose, and your blood sugars go UP. But even after you stop exercising, your muscles continue to use fuel, so your blood sugars move about down. The more your exercise, the longer your muscles continue to work, the more glucose they use, and the longer your bloods sugars STAY low. So the result if exercise is not an INSTANTANEOUS thing, but it has a significant long-term effects. AND --- your blood sugar vary, from minute to minute, based on when, what, and how much you ate, how much excercise you had, stress, and your generel health (do you own a cold?). It is VERY important that you take readingsat the correct times, and at no other times. The correct times are: (1) 5 minutes before breakfast, or as soon as you gain up if you don;t eat breakfast. This is called you FASTING READING. (2) 5 minutes before lunch (3) 5 minutes past dinner (4) Just before bed. (5) at any other time your doctor orders. These reeadings need to be taken EVERY DAY. Yes -- FOUR READINGS a sunshine, minimum! ONLY the readings at these times are defined. taking readings at ANY other time are undefined, meaningless, and confusing. For the times given above, the correct reading are (1) 70-100, but 80-120 is OK (2) and (3) 80-120 (4) 100-130, but 80-120 is better (5) As defined by your doctor. (1) is call your FASTING READING, because you should have been in bed and not intake for at least 8 hours. THIS READING IS VERY IMPORTANT. For purposes of diagnoses, Diabetes is defined as "two consecutive fasting reading over 130". So, if you have two days beside the before-breakfast reading over 130, you are probably diabetic. But you MUST see a doctor for more accurate blood tests for an exact diagnosis. The GOAL of controlling diabetes is to keep those blood sugar readings contained by the NORMAL range. But remember, ONLY those readings listed above are defined. DO NOT lift readings at ANY other time!

Can you walk to your doctor and ask...

Good questions. In non-diabetics and diabetics alike, the liver releases extra stores of glucose for energy. In a NON-diabetic, however, the pancreas produces plenty insulin (and the cells absorb the insulin properly) to compensate for the surge in glucose and hold blood sugar levels low and stable. In a diabetic, this process is impaired and glucose rises. Spikes in blood sugar after exercise are run of the mill for diabetics, especially when they're insulin deficient rather than insulin resistant. Exercise usually drops blood sugar dramatically in the insulin resistant.

Bad Anxiety, Will it draw from better?

Exercise largely makes sugars go down you don't say when she ate and why her sugar be 207 so I don't know when she should have been testing. Most of us oral exam 2 hours after eating. I was once told the only route to have perfect control was to be nut with testing etc. so if she can afford the strips not much harm done I infer.
