Pus is perceptible on my immense rake over? What do I do?

A few days ago I was playing basketball, was running at a fast speed to go and get the ball, stepped on the ball, to break my fall I put out nouns of skin next to my elbow and I scraped it pretty badly. There was blood on the surface of the total cut. Moments later I used rubbing alcohol to kill the bacteria. 2 hours latter when I got home I put Neospririn and bandages on it. Since then I own done this for the last 3 days. It have seen a scab forming and getting little by little bigger each day. Now I see pus present,, my mom doesnt like it and tell me to scrape it off and each hours of daylight she tells me to apply rubbing alcohol and neospirin to it. Is this the right thing to do. The cut is approximately 3 inches long and 3/4 of an inch long.
Best Answer: No, no, NO alcohol!! It is very desperate for the skin, especially when it is broken open. Wash the area with plain (not scented) soap and dry it as ably as you can. I would use plain bacitracin (another ointment with less side effects than Neosporin) particularly sparingly and cover it with a light gauze bandage. This will permit in some air to allow the skin to dry and develop a scab. If it begins to look red (angrily red) or you see a red streak going up your arm, be in motion to your doctor. Good Luck!
