Beach over-hasty?

so i have been at a sea this week with my family. and i own RASH everywhere! its all over my stomach ribs and chest. and it all itches! its not resembling razor burn (don't shave there..haha) its worse. how do you acquire rashes and what casues them? anything having to do near sand or beach or sun that would make me impulsive?
we have gone boating, but it cant be from the boards or life jacket because i wear a one-piece suit that covers the unthinking area.
(other than that we stayed in a lodge so my shower and soaps are not the cause)
