Blood oozing out after chemo for Rectal cancer?
My brother with Stage 2 Rectal cancer, had undergone Chemo and Radiation, which get over just yesterday. The Doctor had planned a follow up for July 30th, for assessing the effectiveness of Chemo and radiation and setting up a date for surgery.
However, since yesterday, my brother has be literally oozing blood from the rectum. While we are meeting the Doctor in a couple of days (we stay relatively far from where the Doctor is), just needed to understand what the possible reasons for this could be.
During Chemo and radiation, the Doctor be quite positive and my brother very now and then had this 'dripping blood' problem. Very very concerned..
Answers: He should phone his doctor immediately. With cancer you do not 'wait' . . you call hours of darkness or day at any time . . there are doctors on call upon who can help you. His doctor would not want him to wait. Call right immediately. Good luck.
