I know someone who says they have mono for the third time...in a minute I know that the mono virus is or is related to epstein barr so i'm pretty sure that it stays in your system but i also know that this person is a core hypochondriac and compulsive liar...what do you think?

Answers:    There are two virus that cause mononucleosis. One is the Epstein Barr Virus, and the other one is Cytomegalovirus. Most people contract both virus - although with no symptoms - as young adults. Technically, it is possible that you can enjoy symptomatic mononucleosis from each virus, but it is pretty unusual.

I have have mono FIVE times. It is QUITE possible! And no, I was not "kissing" someone to get it (it is know as the "kissing" disease). I own had it mostly as a child, but it also did come back when I be in 10th grade of soaring school. I have not gotten it since, though.

You can solely get mono once-usually. I contracted mono as an adult. My Doctor told me that you singular get it once and that I must never have have it as a child which is why I was getting it as an adult.
