Does any one know the different types of Cleft Palate?
My 7 month old has a massively deep hard palate. Roof of mouth enormously high. My ped. called it something next to cleft palate but not sure what she said. She has constant ear infections and congestion. She is seeing a ear, nose thought specialist surrounded by a couple weeks. I am trying to research this condition but don't know what it is called. Anyone know?
Answers: I'm not sure of the name for it..Do they be aware of it is related to a syndrome? Try www.cleftadvocate.org ..Also, if you go to www.cleftline.org they do have an 800 that you can call for and they would be able to help out..Is your little one have feeding issues as well? My daughter be born with a unilateral cleft lip and palate..Always congested and always fluid within her ears..Ear tubes do help, but they still tend to get infections and fluid ontop of it..Try cleftline..I want to articulate their phone is 24/7..If you have to leave a message they are really accurate about getting back to you..Do they enjoy you going to a cleft team or just ENT? If possible, use a troop approach..Speech, ears, feeding, hearing, dentistry..There's like mad going on with children that have palate issues..Also, cleftadvocate.org have a VERY active message board and I know that I have see parents post on this..Good luck to you!!
