I own a phobia call 'telephobia', any suggestions to minister to it?

if anyone has it or has have theirs helped theirs a bit, ideas would be compliant!

Isn't at hand a drug that can generate it appear that someone have have a heart attack?



Answers:    I wouldn't say I have a phobia around it but I hate answering the phone, and don't have a mobile. one-sidedly I would say just wallow in the peace and quiet and ignore the d* things

Like any phobia, the best bearing to eradicate it is cognitive behavioural therapy. In other words, brutally and repetitively confronting fears to get rid of them.

I don’t agree beside the person above who suggested writing a little scribble because this crutch puts emphasis on thinking about what you’re doing respectively time you use the phone. It’s better to practice picking up a phone and addressing it totally spontaneously and unplanned.

I go Mary Kay & commonly have phone fear for myself & I see it profusely in my team.

Our tips for sale are: Remember the telephone is just a communication DEVICE--its not the actual message.

Remember its a moment ago a THING--nothing more.

As well, these days, you can acquire away with email more often than not & we find out of habit of using the phone.

Write down what you want to say on the cell phone. Practise it a few times out loud (go someplace by yourself such as the bathroom or in the shower)

Smile when you read out it--it will make your voice sound pleasent.

Practise adage whatever it is that you are going to say over & over until it sounds more decipherable than it first did.

Then take something that will remind you of your goal (say you entail to call for a ride to the game you enjoy tickets for)--place hte tickets in front of you near the phone.

FOCUS on the TICKETS (OR anything your goal)!! (Don't focus on the telephone or what you are saying).

When its picked up: Ask immediately for X; as soon as X get on--say Hi its Y & I'm calling because I was hoping I could catch a ride to the activity with you?

They say anything they say--if they say "no"--and say to be exact your fear (fear of failure is adjectives in phone fear)--say--well, that's ok! I just figure I'd at least ask but I'll see you there (if they are going & Don't own room).

If they say they aren't going--dont' extend the conversation--just say "WEll hold a great night (or hope you get better) or doesn`t matter what is appropiate (you've written down a few options to throw in at hand too).

Another way to avoid phone fear is to avoid making call that can be emails. Don't overdo yourself in 1 day.

If you hold 3 calls you need to engineer but you only need to do them in the week--make 1 call a day.

Choose a reward for yourself (say rent a movie or go for walk or put away a piece of pie): Remind yourself, as soon as I'm done these 3 calls--I can do X.

For instance, my aspiration this year is paying for our plane tickets to go to NS for the summer--so I have the receipts for our tickets on the wall subsequent to the telephone--the more calls I make, the better the arbitrary to pay for those tickets.

As well, hold something near you that gives you comfort. If its the dog--have it within the room with you. If its a special blanket, make sure its wrapped around you. If its a drink, later pour a small glass of it and sip it while you call.
