Is this usual for a sunburn?
I got a second degree sunburn on Saturday 6-21-08. It blistered and peel the same day. However, it is in a minute doing it's main peeling, but I notice that some skin is still very leathery especially around where my bathing suit straps be. Is this normal? Also, when I put Aloe Vera on it it stings like zilch I have ever felt. It still hurts to move my shoulders due to the leatheryness. What's going on?

PS- the brown spot contained by the center of the picture is my birthmark so don't worry about that.
Answers: You enjoy had sunblisters on top of a burn. It sounds similar to mild sun poisoning. They are very painful and I've have them myself at one time from a trip to Florida- and I used sunscreen!
What worked for me was the noxema cream in the blue jar. It take the pain out, cools your skin and gets it soft while it heal. The peeling is the damaged skin coming sour. Soaking in a cool bath also help. Expect it to take another couple weeks to heal completely and consequently avoid sun as much as possible the rest of your summer. If you do go out use a high SPF factor (at tiniest 30 or more) and don't allow yourself exposure for too long.
Wear loose clothing in the meantime and drink plenty of water and gooey to stay hydrated. If you experience headaches take motrin or tylenol. The stick on gel strips for fever work great for this. You'll usually find them in the kids section of the pharmacy.
this is average because the skin around the area where the straps be lost moisture. It is also normal that the Aloe Vera stings, this means that it's working i've have my share of skin issues and they sting a lot whenever i put medicine or even lotion but this system it;s getting better keep applying lotion, but if you perceive that it's not getting better then i suggest you run to a doctor hope this helps:) I am very white (Swedish) so that generous of stuff happens all the time. It's ok, as long as you save putting the aloe vera on and you stay out of the sun for a while. Keep it well moisturized, and it should be fine.
Fill up your hip bath tube with water and put nearly 20 to 25 bags of tea. I mineral in the tea will lend a hand smooth out the pain.If that doesnt work then oatmeal. if that dont work hospital.DONT USE ANYTHING WITH PURFUME IN IT. Happened to me previously this summer. I think it's normal for a really impossible sunburn. Hurts terrible and you just enjoy to ride it out.
That looks like a 2nd degree burn. I'd see a doctor soon. This happen to me too. That leathery skin will start to peel in a few days, but preserve it moisturized or your skin will crack, and it will hurt like the end of the world. It be to the point I had blisters under the leathery skin, and every time I moved, respectively individual pore was basically a blister, and soft would rush out of my skin every time I touched something. This is really really really bad for your skin, and every time you get a burn approaching this your likelihood for skin cancer increases exponentially. Make sure you wear SPF from now on! Cold showers help me, and I also laid in bed face down, wearing intensely breezy clothing. I was also really dehydrated notion while I was burned, so until you heal drink lots of marine.
Ohhhh my dear,
I'm sorry, but yes you do have 2nd degree burns on your support.
Are you using Pure (from the plant directly) Aloe Vera? If you're using from a bottle, read the ingredients. Alcohol is sometimes mixed in to keep the aloe from drying up.

Soft body scrub (St. Ive's Peach body scrub) <--This help from the nasty peeling and to assist that dead skin peel stale too.
Hemp Body Butter. <---the Body Shop or any lotion with out alcohol in it.
Cool patch. <---The fever reducing patches work to facilitate take the sting out when over using the shoulders.
I hope this helps you out Kiddo ;-D
Yes, explicitly normal. Well, at least, every sunburn I hold ever had has done this. Are you impartial skinned? I have a very oil lamp skin tone, so this happens to me quite normally. Over time, though, or if you get several sunburns in matching summer, this will decrease. And ignore the 'tea' entity... that does nothing but pay the Lipton company and craft you more sore than you already are. Try Aveeno lotion if you have some, or maybe Eucerin. Or, you could also try germ-x on the really leathery places. It will sting for a moment, but this will speed the recuperative process. It loosens the remaining peelable skin while killing the bacteria on the nouns, which reduces pain. If you hold more questions about this, email me at sarahkell(a)windstream.lattice. :-)
