My Blood and Urine examination results?

I just took a general blood audition and urine test, the lab tested my blood for about 25 different things and assorted things for the urine. My test results came fund showing that everything was fine and that I am healthy. But my quiz is, I know you have to take specific blood test to determine if you have specific disease or infections etc.. But through a general blood theory test will the laboratory not be able to detect wether you have an underlying problem somewhere within your system, and if so would investigate it further... For example if they tested your white blood cell count and saw that it was low this would indicate that they might need to do further test correct?

Years ago it was done when any abnormal blood or urine check results were reviewed by a physician called a clinical pathologist who next interpreted possible disease associated with abnormal results. By the road, there are hundred of different possible test that could be done but individual a few screening tests are used. Reflex testing concluded when health insurers refused to remuneration for it. Now it is up to your ordering physician to review your results and then lay down what he/she believes is appropriate and justified. Such is government and form insurer controls these days.
