Answers:    If you don't make out any improvement as late as 72 hours after the first dose of antibiotics, afterwards the antibiotic may not be adequate. So you'd want to call your doctor.
It's adjectives to have what's called a "post-nasal" drip, when you own a nasal infection. You can take an antihistamine to treat this.
Most over-the-counter antihistamines cause drowsiness, the exception is Claritin (Zyrtec does end in drowsiness).
What you can do is take Benadryl--an antihistamine that causes drowsiness--at darkness to not only take guardianship of the post-nasal drip and the cough, but it'll help you sleep. Then, during the day when you necessitate to be alert, take Claritin.
If you need something to give a hand you with the cough, I suggest you take some Delsymm at night--it's a cough suppressant. During the daylight, it's best that you be able to cough off the mucus, so you can embezzle an expectorant, like Robitussin to help cough up the phlegm.
Don't buy a combination product that have both an expectorant and a cough suppressant, because they have oppossing mechanisms of action--I'm referring to Robitussin DM--it doesn't generate sense to have an ingredient to help you cough up the phlegm (guaifenesin) and an ingredient to suppress the cough (dextromethorphan).
If you procure a sore throat, you can take some ibuprofen and cough drops to relieve the sore throat. I don't suggest the sprays, because it only carry to certain portions of your throat.
This is all assuming you don't enjoy any medical conditions or drug allergies that prevent the use of these medications.
