Questions just about emphyzema...?

I am 21, a female, I've been smoking cigarettes since I be 17, nothing crazy, I can usually keep a pack going for 3 days and I smoke camel lights, never anything more grating. I smoke more when I'm out at bars. I got a cold roughly speaking a month ago and I was in bed for roughly a week with a fever, sore throat, runny trunk and cough. Well the cough hasn't left and it sounds really bad. I know I should a moment ago go to the doctor but like most of us, I'm afraid of the results! What are the probability a girl my age has emphyzema? I usually just smoke while I'm at work and on weekends, I don't smoke adjectives day long and I'm not from a family of smokers. I do hold allergies and a deviated septum which causes a nasal drip into my throat causing partially of my coughing but sometimes it sounds like my cough is coming straight from my lungs. Any advice would be appreciated, thankfulness!!

Also, after reading all this information on the web roughly emphyzema I have decided to quit smoking. :)

Do i hold a brain tumour or something, i am really worried?


Answers:    Congratulations on your conclusion to quit smoking. It's the best thing you can do for yourself. Like your other responder, I also have COPD, emphysema. Not a fun point to live with. No one can tell you unquestionably that you won't get emphysema but if you follow through with quitting, you're smaller number likely to have to verbs about it. Just stay away from places and people who are smoking.

The likelihood you have emphysemia at your age is very slim..The coughing sounds more resembling a bad cold & if it continues do see a Dr. Maybe a bacterial infection easily treated by antibiotics.
