Swollen throat and strep?

Went to doctor when he tried to swab my throat it hurt and I pushed his hand away in recoil. He said ok I think I got adequate to test and it came rear legs negative..My throat was swollen and it be hard to swallow..Went away after a few days..Could I still have have strep throat even though the doctor said it was negative..Can another microbes cause strep and the doctor not pick it up?

Answers:    ive had strep oodles many times and u could have some other bactiria within your throat that the doctor didnt check for like broncidus or it could just be alliergies but if it doesnt travel away in about a week i would jump back in and enjoy them re-check ya...

I almost wonder if could be an alergic reaction. If you had strep, i imagine they'd know.
