Unknown Pleural effusion ??

Back in March I finally got my hubby to dance to the DR for chest pain he was have. The DR sent him for a X-ray and that came back showing he have fluid in his left lung cavity. (Pleural Effusion) They did a Echocardiogram on him and it be fine. Sent him in for a CT scan with Contrast, and that showed Fluid and a 1.6 cm spiculated nodule surrounded by his lower left lobe. He went surrounded by for a Thorosentesis (Where they drain the fluid and test it) and it came hindmost "Inconclusive" .. We were then referred to a pulmonary specialist and he run test's. (Lymes, rheumetoid etc) All of that came back fine. He after sent us for another Ct scan and that showed fluid still in there and he "think's" that the 1.6 cm nodule is if truth be told fluid in the phisher area of the lung.. So we get another Thorosentesis done recently and that came subsidise as nothing.

Hubby had chest misery at work the other day and his left arm be tingly. So he came home asking me the signs of a heart attack. I told him we needed to go to the ER. So we did. They did a ekg and it be fine. DR admitted him for testing. They did a CT again and it showed fluid. (Dr think it's left over fluid) They did a lung scan to check for blood clots and a Doppler on his legs to check the blood flow. All of that was fine. They did a TB audition and so far nothing is popping up. The blood work is not all final yet. They released him after 2 days in the hospital and we entail to go in monday to the DR and acquire a referral to a thoracic surgeon (chest surgeon)They will biopsy and see if anything is going on in there. The DR said this is ultimate resort. He does not have any idea what is cause it. He said that he think's it's inflammatory (Lupus, or Rheumetoid etc ) or Cancer, but the fluid is not showing cancer... All of the blood work is not back yet, we call for to find out Monday.. This is all so stressing! No answers, nothing. Does anyone enjoy any idea on what this could be?!?

He does not think he have a heart attack. He said that the Pleural effusion and the chest issue were not connected.

Nit vs. dandruff? HELP HELP please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Answers:    Sounds like the docs are doing merely about everything right. Time to see the surgeon. Not to be scary, but it is moderately possible that the "mass" in the fissure and the effusion are related. The pain could be from frequent things; however, simple thorocentesis can result in reactive "pleuritis", or irritation of the pleura (lining of the chest cavity). If he was appropriately evaluated for heart attack, he awfully likely did NOT have one (low false gloomy test).

There are designated pathways for resecting (biopsy) a 1.6cm mass. If in the fissure, it might if truth be told be a technically easy operation. You'll have to find a surgeon you trust, don't verbs about "liking him/her" so much. It can repeatedly be done with camera type surgery... thoracoscopy. If it is "cancer", your surgeon will likely remove the entire lobe of the lung... but at this point you'll of late have to trust the judgement of your surgeon.

My friend ate a unharmed bottle of spicy green beans- and very soon she have a sore anus- what can she do?

Basically, if the x-rays came wager on not showing any tumours, its not going to be lung cancer.

However, it could be lupus, the buildup of fluid (pleuritis or pleurisy) is very possible. Also, chest pains can also be attributed to lupus. However, I can be particularly conclusive because I don't own the test results, and I haven't met your husband.

However, if you thik this is stressing for you, you should try to imagine it for your doctor.

It is especially stressful when the tolerant and the patient's family are stressed, and the tests aren't outstandingly helpful, especially as your husband has have so many tests.

However, the reality is that until all the lab work is back, the diagnosis isn't going to come.

However, I don't believe that your husband have a heart attack, although it is a distintinct possibility, however, I believe that he has lupus, but without solid lab work to final up that claim. I can't be positive.
