Depends upon how long a party has been exposed to the Bb spirochete. Initial symptoms recurrently mimic the flu, sometimes a bullseye rash (don't rely on the presence of this rash). However, if Lyme goes undetected and become chronic (yes, chronic Lyme does exist) then Bb spirochete can mimic many ailments, to include ALS, MS, Ahlzheimer's, memory problems and other neurological symptoms...the catalogue goes on.
