My ear-drums appear to be REALLY sensitive, how can I avoid extreme pressure?
Whenever I go really high up somewhere (on a Gondola ride, up a mountain and especially on airplanes) I get intense ear pressure. I try to chew gum, yawn, swallow, anything and it's so pressurized that they won't pop and I can almost not hear anything, eventually it goes away though after I get back down from where I am. Plus, it only seems to affect me, for example, on a plane ride once, my ear pressure was so intense that my complete side of my face felt clogged and I couldn't hear even though that didn't happen to anyone else on the plane.
Is here any way to get rid of this? I'm going on a 14 hour flight in three days and I want to trade name sure I'm not miserable during it.
Best Answer: You need to go up slowly, Its bad if its too swift, but... I dont know what you would do about a plane. Maybe try swallowing every minute on the plane when going up... hmmm, ask a doctor.
Answer: take some sort of sleeping drug. try not to be awake for most of the flight.
