Pain after stitches contained by common?
I cut the lower part of my finger a month ago and got 6 stitches. Ever since the stitches came out, the cut have healed really well...however I do have some agony in the middle joint when pressure is applied on the tip of my finger. The area directly around the cut feel normal. Could this be permanent damage, or does it merely need some time? I'm moving it fine, it's just with pressure.
Best Answer: if there's no swelling or discharge from the wound, next it's probably fine. it was just such a deep cut...it take longer for the muscles deep in your finger to heal than it does for the top layer of skin on your finger.

if the cut was deep enough to cut the nerves the cramp you are feeling in your joints is only just the nerves. Its nothing serious and it will get easier over time but until then it will merely be an annoying pain. Tylenol or another simple form of pain med should help pocket the edge off if it gets too insupportable. When I had a c-section the doctors/nurses told me that I was curative up great. My incision, even though it was visibly healed still hurt for months afterward. I asked the doctor and they said that as long as there be no swelling, discharge, redness or extreme pain, it was run of the mill. Your finger should be back to normal soon - I don't think it will bring as long as my incision to heal. Just watch it closely and note any change.
