Is the skin on my foot infected?
ok, sometimes when I wear flip-flops I have a nervous (and I suppose slightly disgusting) habit of picking at the failure of my heel. I know, it's gross, but the other day I pulled off quite a bit of skin, and forgot roughly it, and stupidly went outside and walked around in the grass/dirt barefoot. the one bit where on earth I picked off skin isn't healing right and hurts so badly I can't meander on it. it's black and a little swollen. is it infected and what should I do?
Best Answer: It certainly sounds infected. See a doctor about it. If it doesn't alleviate quickly, you may want to be checked for diabetes too: Slow healing is one of the symptoms. Good luck!
