Will putting a local anaesthetic underneath your tongue provide a stronger or quicker effect?
I recently got a plate and 6 screws put within for my snapped clavicle. I've been reading that pills absorbed via under the tongue are gripped directly into the blood system b/c of the artery. Is this true with pain killers? Will this wreak a stronger/quicker effect b/c it doesn't have to travel through all of digestive tract?
I want to use the paint killer prescribed to me. I would basically like to know if this is true.
Best Answer: Yes - this is the fastest route of administration. You can crush any pill that's crushable into a powder and put it under your tongue for faster incorporation. Be careful, it usually tastes terrible :) As other, don't take more than you should.
