Minor knees dull pain put somebody through the mill?

I was lifting weights last week, and when I was surrounded by the middle of a decently heavy lift, my knees kinked in a little bit and there be a small pain. Nothing severe at all. I was competent to lower the weight and continue working out. I actually feel no pain the rest of the day because I was competent to do 30 minutes on the stair master. The next day, I went running and in that was a slight pain that developed and got worse as I run. I walked home, iced my knee, and fell asleep. Later that day I could only just walk because it was throbbing. The next morning it narrowly hurt at all, and now it's been a week and it single starts to hurt a little bit when I do strenuous activity. Should I see a doctor, or is this a minor pull that should treat as long as I stay off of it for a little while?
