Requip Medication for children?

My 12 year aged stepson moved within near my husband and I. His mom give him Requip med for his legs hurting at dark. Since he have be next to us he hasn't needed the med untill second hours of darkness. He said his legs hurt so I give him one. He woke up at 3:00am broad awake I have to build him jump rear legs to bed and he be up again at 5:30am. According to the Requip trellis site this is not one of the side effects. Could he possiable be over dosed? The dosage is 1mg
