Ok, I'm 17 and I'm having the same exact problem at my NYC high academy with a girl. Its SO frustrating and annoying when this girl looks at me, flirts with me, talks we me outside of college, but at the same time has other crushes. Two things that are different with my experience from your situation are that the girl I similar to is not so popular (just a normal, average, cool girl) and does not have a boyfriend. So, I feel your misery. I would recommend to continue on this friendship or relationship with this dude. That's what I'm doing today with this girl at my university. In fact I'm so excited that all her crushes are leaving this year (since they are seniors and we are junior right now). And if this guy you like has a girlfriend, then you should probably not pursue anything. And if he's single, later first start off with inviting him to a different environment that's not in university to get to know him better.
