Should I save on exercising or should I stop?

Hi, I'm 16 and a half and I started exercising about 2 months ago. I see improvement on myself, but I've hear it can stop you from growing. I have not reached the height I'd close to to have yet (My father is still taller), but I have a pretty apt height. Does working out really stops you from growing or does it help? Please support your answers so I can be sure that what you're saying is true. Thanks for the warning!
