iv be obsess around this psychiatric therapist that i've become attached to, would it be supportive to articulate to her?
or would that only perpetuate the obsessions? these obsession have been going on since january when i left the clinic.
fyi you don't hold to tell me that there's no way i could be with this creature since she's a therapist.. i realize that, i just need a path to stop these obsessions so it doesn't turn into something much worse considering my social isolation and social anxieties which have gone unresolved since i left the clinic
and i not here the place because of her, not because i couldn't afford to stay longer
Best Answer: Obsession towards one's therapist is extremely common. The term for this is transference. Transference, within a vague definition, is an unconscious projection of feelings from one party to another. Please read up transference on these websites: http://www.crisiscounseling.com/Articles/Transference.htm http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-transference.htm What I suggest you do is make an appointment with this therapist and communicate her about the obsession you have towards her. If she is professional and know her stuff well enough, she will handle the situation by working through the morale with you. This is done by trying to relate the feelings you are experiencing towards her with your childhood. Another alternative is that you could find a hot therapist whom you will share this issue with. However, there is a possibility that you will be attached to the clean therapist because transference is an inner craving for the emotional attachment that you did not have during childhood. If you choose to create an appointment with this therapist you have an complex towards and she rejects you and is unable to handle your feelings professionally or seem lost, do not feel discouraged. Pick yourself up and seek another therapist who is competent to deal with transference. In fact, if a mental robustness professional is trained with transference issues, he or she is able to heal you next to the use of counter-transference. Unfortunately, not a lot of therapists know how to deal near transference as it can be awkward. Nonetheless, please do not give up. I, myself, have been dealing next to transference for more than half of my life even though I am undoubtedly younger than you. You are most welcomed to contact me on my profile page should further assistance be required. All the best and help yourself to care.

When one have an obsession, you're really talking about an addiction, and you entail to treat it just like any other addiction. That means reducing the addiction and replacing it beside a new thought. I would suggest trying to fantasize about other women and once a week only assume about the therapist. Every time you start to think almost the therapist, force yourself to fantasize about another woman. Do that for three weeks. Then, cut down the therapist fantasies some more until it's freshly once every two weeks, once a month etc.. I would suggest joining some clubs, or taking some classes, such as cooking or a foreign language and trying to meet some women with whom you can enjoy a normal relationship. Incorporate a few of these women into your new fantasies. Try to spread out your fantasies, which is what the average guy does. However, I would stay away from porn because it just make people want more sex.what is the best route to do ?..?
Its not terribly uncommon. If you do own the money to be seen somewhere it would be a good idea to be see by someone about this, but not her. It likely has smaller number to do with her and more to do with that you felt attached care for heard etc. If you go to a new consultant about this you can find out why it happened and how to go give or take a few resolving things and filling the needs that you had that cause the attachment and obsession in the first place. That way you can budge on with therapy and other important close but non sexual or intimate relationships within your life with clear and comfortable boundaries. Where you wouldn't feel the overwhelming desire to entail the closeness of someone you know you shouldn't because the actual issue that drives the desire in you would be fixed.Related Questions...
