Do psychiatrists freshly prescribe medication or do they have a word to you also ?
I have my first appointment tomorrow and I was wondering if when you walk into their bureau, if they just prescribe medication or if they talk and try to know whats going on. I have a long history of things that enjoy happened and I was wondering if I will be asked my life history tomorrow. Thanks
Best Answer: Psychiatrists are here to prescribe meds. They arent there to listen and talk your problems out as a counselor or psychologist does. For my times, i was given an evaluation first by a nurse or psychologist around my history, family history, drug and alcohol abuse me or my family, diseases, sickness, mental bad health in the family, basically they wanna know everything medically related going on surrounded by the family. From there its around 1 week to up to 3 months before you grasp to the actual psychiatrist, or before he prescribes you anything. He wants to make sure you in actual fact need it. He wont just give you meds the first time you travel in. He is going to be studying your file in this time extent. in the mean time, do stuff to help you. exercise, devour better, and stay away from negative things.
