Becoming a psychiatrist?
Please explain in detail about the "rotations" you do in hospitals on your mode to graduating med school. Also, explain residency.
Best Answer: In medical school you mostly do classroom work and remark surgeries and other procedures for the first two years. The last two years, you do rotations as a student observing in and out of hospital. After graduate from medical school, you are (hopefully) accepted into a residency for family practice, internal medication, pediatrics, gynecology, emergency medicine, surgery, psychiatry or whatever. Those residencies have different requirements. For kinfolk practice, the usual residency is three years and since you have your M.D. or D.O. by that time, you are actually practicing medicine below the supervision of a senior doctor/instructor. Rotations during the residencies allow you to work in different settings. For a psychiatry residency you might work in the emergency room, on call to see psych trauma patients, contained by the psych floor, spend time working in a state or private mental hospital, and in the office of a mental condition center. For psychiatry the residency is often four years and afterward you take the national board exam to become board certified. You can specialize in pediatric psychiatry by doing a residency rotation within a children's or adolescent psychiatry floor or hospital. Hope I was helpful

You go from long-suffering to patient or appointment to appointment where you practice taking a history, viewing signs and symptoms of certain sicknesses to differentiate the abundant types.
