The soul who is smoking weed and aware he is destroying his family is so overpowered by his addiction that nothing is better than getting a fix. People on drugs will tell you that 9 times out of 10 a drug user will choose drugs over family. What would make him change would any be: 1. Him losing his wife and child because of his addiction, or 2. Him receiving medical help to stop his addiction. If he is loved and supported he might be able to break the addiction and see what he is doing to his home. But sometimes it is only the harsh reality when they lose the ancestors they love which snaps them out of the habit.
