When do compliments become disdainful?
I can't accept compliments. It's just something I can't do. But I don't know when people are comedy or just trying to make me feel better going on for myself.

So, when a person compliments you on something you know you're worthy at/look good in/whatever, they're not being patronizing. But speak you were having a really terrible quill day, or something along those lines, and they complimented you on your hair. Then they're being b*tches. Hmm.. You and me both. I think it becomes patronizing when they start complimenting EVERYTHING something like you... Your hair, your shoes, your nose. Haha! And you know they're only trying to get you feel better if you bring it up. Eg. You say "I'm ugly." and they articulate "No your not, you're gorgeous." Not that I'm saying any of this from experience. I rarely get compliments full stop. :) Hope I help. I think it's in the tone and the face. If their tone seem "off" or "forced" it's easy to tell that the person is one patronizing. Similarly, if the smile is fake, they're either socially awkward or haughty you. People tick differently, so sometimes it's difficult to tell.
