Does my relatives really strictness? (alcoholic and user?)?
(I drink and smoke weed all the time and I'm trying to quit)I'm 29 years old, I live with my dad, I enjoy 3 older siblings. My mom passed away when I was 18.(2 weeks before my 19th birthday). I hold been in trouble with the decree since I've been 16. I recently got a DUI stern in June.(this would be my 3rd DUI). I have come to realize that every time I have be arrested or in trouble, alcohol has been involved. I saw a psychiatrist within April and he put me on Lexapro for my anxiety disorder(bipolar disorder). I have been going to group counseling(required by the state) and I have come to realize that not 1 accomplice of this family has tried to reach out and aid me with my alcohol addiction. NOT ONCE! My family only help me when it's too late. I really want to stop drinking, and I've tried, but my dad will make dinner or somethin' and he'll tell me "there's beer within the fridge". I can't take this anymore, considering that my dad said this family gave up on me, but did they ever carefulness in the first place. I try to talk to my dad about my mental disorder and alcoholism but adjectives he ever tells me is "you're not an alcoholic" or "you don't have a mental disorder". WHY DOES MY DAD NOT WANT TO BELIEVE THAT ONE OF HIS CHILDREN IS MESSED UP IN THE HEAD? remember, that my dad knows that I drink adjectives the time, and I smoke weed all the time(I want to say used too, because I'm trying to stop) Once again, not one person surrounded by this family has ever talked to me give or take a few my drinking problem. He knows I go to AA meetings and counseling, but pretty much laughs at me.
another path of putting it is why does my family look the other way with my serious problems?
Hey Jody! We call upon them "serious problems" because I can't do anything for myself. It's not that I don't want to, I can't, I need my families help
Best Answer: Well, dear, I'm recovered alcoholic, and own suffered from severe depression, anxiety, and a life-threatening eating disorder at certain points in my energy. I have been healthy and complete for several years now, thanks to an intense desire to change, a suitable therapist, appropriate medications and the willingness to do anything I needed to do to change my life for the better. I received absolutely no assistance from my family of origin. None. It is great if you have that give a hand, and looking back I wish that someone had given me a foot now and then, or at least taken my issues seriously. But they didn't. I guess that it would hold bothered them too much to think that they had a family appendage with such serious problems; it would have reflected weakly on them. But I got better anyway, and you can too. I would suggest that you accept that your family is what it is, and verbs. Do what you need to do to get better. If you suffer from bipolar disorder, you need to work next to a good psychiatrist and make sure you are appropriately medicated. That will make quitting the other behaviors much easier. AA meeting in my opinion are not a great place for dually diagnosed people, but if you close to them, go ahead...just be sure to ignore anyone who tell you that you need to stop taking your prescribed medications (that is insane advice, and I hold seen people relapse and kill themselves after following it).

Again just slow down on the weed and bevy...give body a accidental to regroup your older should now better.all the best

It's not your dad's responsibility. It's not your family's problem. Your disease is your responsibility. You can't blame them. You might own to take responsibility for your life by moving out of there. It's worrisome. But there's no point "trying to stop." You just have to stop. One good road is detox and rehab. If you're unemployable, they'll help you get on welfare and get a place to live as long as your verbs and sober. Otherwise, suffer.Related Questions...
