I own a friend whose enormously much mentally under the weather is nearby anything I could right to be heard to him or do to help out?

He's brainwashed (christian) but more of a cult type fallowing he's hero's are extremists and are seen as complete nuts even by most christian faiths also he is living in serious lala domain on other issues, He's inevitably heading towards a serious mental breakdown anytime now, his bubble will burst, He's almost 30 and still lives at home hasnt held a job more then 1 month and insists its fine, hell never enjoy to work a job he doesnt like cause god will set free him. His mom is in her 60's one day she wont be there for him and I 100% believe he's gonna break
Best Answer: I hold similar friends with these difficulties. I think the best thing you can do to give a hand is realise that it is no good arguing with him about his beliefs. if you do this may effect him stress, which he cannot afford to have. Tell him that you respect his beliefs but you may differ with in your own opinion, but do not wish to argue. if he is stressed try to calm him down, and suggest an easier subject. Perhaps you could play cards or work out a quiz. Good luck with your friendship.
I sought guidance once from the psychiatrist for a friend who had similar problems. He gave me the above advice.

Mental illness is not easy to live with...for the person who is ill and for adjectives those who care about him/her. Best you can do is be his friend...just approaching you are doing. You can't save him, and you can't change him. He needs mental strength care...you don't mention if he is in therapy, but it is so influential both to monitor him and to hopefully address some of his symptoms. Most likely he is oblivious to how 'out there' he is. That makes it hard to cheer up him to get help. There are many things that contribute to mental illness(es)...including and especially diet. Don't know how much challenge you are able to put into educating yourself on the subject, but there are books out there that cover the topic of nutrition and mental bug. (Look for books by Dr. Abrahm Hoffer or books on the topic of nutrition and mental health (Optimum Nutrition for the Mind by Patrick Holford is one such book). Even if you became an expert in the subject, you still wouldn't be capable of take responsibility for your friend's life or his illness. There is an management called NAMI (National Alliance for the Mentally Ill) that is a great resource for family and friends of the mentally unwell. You can find information, support and guidance through NAMI. Look to see if there is a chapter near you.
