Wellbutrin SR dosage?
I'm taking Wellbutrin SR (sustained release) 100 mg two times per day (200 mg total). My doctor wants to up my dosage to 300, and I had some question I totally blanked on today. I'm seeing him again tomorrow, so will ask him, as I know none of you can provide me with an opinion as valid as his. I'd still like to know what to expect though.
I own A LOT of trouble swallowing pills. I spend about 20 minutes trying to swallow an advil tablet. You're not supposed to take each 100 mg pill at most minuscule 8 hours apart, I do 9 to be safe. So if I took 3 100mg pills, I'd have to take one really slow at night, which would give me insomnia. I'm assuming I could take the 150 mg tablets twice a afternoon, but with the size I'd have a lot of trouble. So, my most important question is could I take 2 100mg tablets in the morning, and 1 100mg tablet at lowest 8 hours later? Because the 2 100mg tablets would dissolve and affect me at the same time, would that lead to an overdose? 200mg can be taken at once, but it's typically in one pill. Would taking 2 100mg be dangerous? Please explain if you can, and let me know how you know this (if it's a short time ago a guess, if you have a degree, etc.)

Phoebe- Do you take generic Bupropion SR, or Wellbutrin SR? I've read online there's a big difference in side effects, so I'd assume this would also differ. (Main difference is supposed to be cost and what insurance will cover, but people who hold been on both reported different effects) Thanks!
Best Answer: I would ask to switch to the 150 XL. You could take two of them once a day, and if that be too much you could easily go back down. (Instead of taking one 300 XL.) And if you return with brand Wellbutrin, the tablets are very small. I can't stress enough how dangerous the generic version can be -- stay away from budeprion at all costs! If your insurance won't pay for brand, at least try to find a pharmacy that carry bupropion. Even that isn't as effective as brand, but the budeprion is completely worthless and nearly landed me in the hospital. There's profoundly of information about these issues online. I know how confusing it can be, so good luck!

I take 300 mg Bupropion SR. I filch both 150's in the morning at the same time. My doctor advised it, and another doctor told me it be fine, as well as the pharmicist.. Otherwise I can't sleep. So I take 300mg of the SR (not the XL) every morning at the same time, and I enjoy never had a problem. If the 100 mg tablets are the instant release kind, then it might be a problem, i own no idea, but if you are taking sr tablets you would be fine.Related Questions...
