I devise my mum's depressed, but plainly doesnt want to step to the doctor, what can I do?

My mum's come out of hospital 9 months ago, had a serious back operation and is going to take another year to restore to health. She hasn't left the house much, and is getting very lonely; let's just vote my dad isn't helping either. She has so many mood swings, and argues for absoloutly no explanation, she scares me a lot and I just want her pay for to how she was. SHe was always so lively, and now she just cant stop crying, I always comfort her hoping she'll be contented again. She doesnt want to go to the doctors because she doesnt want it on her record, and I have NO concept what to do. Does anyone have a suggestion that could help? Best Answer: It sounds as though you are being hugely strong and supportive to your mother and that is very admirable. If your mother is depressed after it is best that she does visit a health professional to help her. She can speak to freephone services similar to the Samaritans if she won't leave the house at first. They might be able to talk to her and variety her feel different. Does your mother have any friends or other family that may know how to make her feel better and get her out of the house? It's probably a fitting idea to sit your mum down and tell her that you love her very much and it hurts you to see her so down while she is within her current position and make a suggestion that she sees someone. EDITED TO ADD: You could try talking to your dad again and making it clear how much it is upsetting you. Do you have any relatives or friends of hers that can help out? You are doing a really appropriate job by the way, being strong and supportive is doing more fitting then you know but you are right she may need to see someone. I don't know how you could force that, it may be something she needs to see for herself. I don't know why she is reluctant to see someone, or hold it on record, what difference would it make?

Have a talk beside your father. Tell him what you told us here about your mom. She has so many mood swings, she argues for no drive, she scares you a lot and she just can't stop crying.
