Mental problems run contained by my ancestral but not a soul dialogue around it?
i feel like the only personality in my family who has anxiety disorder. i know some inherited members on both sides have dealt near substance abuse issues when they were young adults--which really screwed them up.
i know my aunt have had depression and my uncle has been mentally unstable my complete life, but my mom always told me it was due to when he started taking drugs and they changed him. my mom seem to look down on both of her siblings...she thinks they can't take good warning *EYE ROLL*
anyway, i've always been overly anxious -- even as a kindergartner!
could i just be a spontaneous defence of anxiety disorder / OCD? or what? or am i just not being told something? everyone glosses over everything...and i lately wanna know what i can do to help MYSELF while i'm still young!
.wow. okay.
Best Answer: Anxiety runs in family. It is both genetic and learned behavior. There is nothing wrong with anxiety for it is of late who you are as a Human Being. There is nothing to be feared nor feel ashamed. Congratulations on human being aware of your personal issues and open to talking about them. Admittedly, the Internet is not the best forum within which to share and discuss. What might be more helpful is to seek guidance from your Doctor who can steer you more proactively than anybody else. Anxiety is quite adjectives so your Doctor would be well versed in helping you. Again, mental problems are prevalent in family and sometimes families fear the problems or the people beside the problem. Often, family members just want the full mess to go away; thereby telling the afflicted member to 'verbs it together'. I wish you all the luck and please see your Doctor who knows what they are doing to give a hand. Be open and courageous. Be Well!
I am a formally trained Therapist with severe mental issues in my ethnic group, as well.

While family history is a strong factor in mental robustness problems, that does not mean you cannot have them without someone else contained by your family having them. You can develop an anxiety disorder because of a traumatic event, or just extreme stress as a child. Talk to your parents and enlighten them you want to see a doctor or a counselor. Don't let them gloss it over. If they won't help, you can phone your local health department for help, they often enjoy free programs. Good luck,Help! Mild anxiety attacks, perceive similar to im...

anxiety/depression is hereditary sometimes for a lot of general public, including my family. just make sure your anxiety doesnt budge too overboard, if it does, see a therapist. Stay away from any substance abuse.I'm of late an average looking girl...?
First of all, if you have no idea anyone had mental disorders in your kinfolk do you think you'd still have one? The most common misconception in the region of mental health is that it is 99.9% passed down through family when in reality it isn't. The fact that you know could cause you to have the mental disorder basically has much as genetics could. It's just a mental item that happens. If someone gets a cold that you live with and you believe inside your heart you'll get it too, you will. If you believe you won't then you have a huge randomness of not getting it. The one thing you can do is get a mental evaluation done. You can talk to your doctor almost having one done and they'll try to tell you where to step or what doctor would be best for you. You can't get answers from here only advice to step to the doctor. It wouldn't hurt to have the evaluation done, I had one done when I was 15 and be diagnosed with grief, anxiety, and depression caused by trauma. All they'll do is talk to you in the order of it and if you get a therapist to see every two weeks or so you can talk going on for your problems and not feel so "anxious". If the doctors don't think you need one, you're fine. Don't push the issue beside them. Mental health is a scary thing. Everyone have a small case of OCD. My clocks can't be on an even number when I look at them. My TV volume has to be at the end of "e" on volume. My cat have to sit on my left side. I have to have my books within order from biggest to smallest on my book shelf. My white unicorns have to be on the right of my colored ones. I have to look at something I type at least possible three times before I print/send it. I have been told by a professional that it be normal. So.Related Questions...
