Depression, Psychosis, Bi Polar, Schizophrenia - The difference?
Okay, I have severe depression and over the last 3 years I've come across alot of hallucination, delusion, voices, paranoia etc. Now, they evolved in me b/c of my untreated depression (I'm currently being treated) but when I look rear I can't catergorize my disillusional beliefs or thoughts/voices etc. Psychosis seems the same as schizophrenia as both include hallucinations but I don't know exactly what I be; was I psychotic, or scizophrenic or something else? Can some one cover this up for me please?
Best Answer: Psychosis is a symptom that is part of schizophrenia, and can be piece of depression or bipolar disorder if severe enough. Schizophrenia is a complicated illness but its not only psychosis, it involves lots other aspects. Sorry i cant list them because i dont remember but go to google nad search it within and you'll seee all the others positive and negative symptoms. Depression and bipolar disorder can include psychosis in a severe episode of fixation or depression. If you have psychosis all the time along with the depression or bipolar disorder, you could be Schizo-affective which is schizophrenia and a mood disorder
