Losing beside next to PCOS? ... Metformin, diet & exercise?

Hi, I was diagnosed with PCOS, but I was not put on any treatment a moment ago yet.. my endocrinologist referred me to get a sonogram first. I have gain a lot of weight over the years, and now mortal diagnosed with PCOS it all makes sense as to why it have been difficult to lose it. If my dr. put me on metformin, along with properI diet & exercise is it possible to lose weight? Or will I be stuck individual heavy my entire life now because I own PCOS? I used to be 115 lbs now I am over 140.. I need to get put money on to my normal size, will it be impossible now? I am very hesitant and don't know what to do... should I see my gynocologist or continue seeing my endocrinologist? Anyone with PCOS and have counsel or any info, please help! Thanks
Best Answer: You will probably lose weight on the metformin - lots of people do. You could put in in an anti androgen such as spironolactone, depending on your symptoms. An endo is definitely better than a gynae in treating pcos, but if you're not smiling with your current endo then change to someone else. There are also lots of herb that help pcos.
