I used my first tampon and it wasn't comfortable, back?
Well I finally got my first tampon in, and I'm in a salsa recital tomorrow so I really need to be confident that I'm feeling out of danger and comfortable. I think I got the applicator in far ample, but when I was pushing in the cotton I was slowly pulling the applicator out. I wasn't exactly comfortable for the subsequent 40 minutes (i then took it out and it hurt). Could somebody help? What am I doing wrong? How do I use this without any stomach-ache?

Best Answer: It best time to start learning how to use tampons is on one of your heavy flow days. This way near enough blood from lube and easier time sliding in. Next use the lightest, thinnest tampons you have. Playtex have a thin applicator that's prefect for first time users. Use these until you feel comfortable putting in tampons. Then find a comfortable position to put the tampon surrounded by. Some prefer sitting with their legs apart, placing their foot on the seat, or some even squat. Then.. Relax!! This is the biggest mistake first time uses make is they are too tight thus the vaginal muscles tighten making it hard to insert the tampon. Take a few deep breaths and imagine some place that make you happy. Try placing a little bit of water dais lube (Like KY Jelly) on the tip of the tampon and down the applicator to help with insertion. Slide just the tip contained by and start to angle it towards your lower back. Now slide the rest of the applicator into your body till your fingers touch your body. Slide the inner applicator into the outer applicator and there you go. What I typically have to do is slide the little bit of the tampon that is sticking out, into my body and move it around a little, till its comfortable for me.

Are you using slender ones? I also find the plasticy applicators easier to use than cardboard.My guess is that you just got it in at the wrong angle- this may nouns a bit bizarre, but stand and squat with the applicator inserted (before you push in the tampon itself)- that way you can adjust the angle (you should touch comfortable in all positions). Also, use a lower absorbency tampon- it'll obviously have need of to be changed more often (but that's safer anyway) and you won't run the risk of having to pull out a dry tampon (that's other uncomfortable). The applicator has to go ALL THE WAY IN, and after you have to push the plunger so that it goes ALL THE WAY UP. When this is done correctly, you shouldn't feel anything at your gap. If your flow is lighting, there might not be enough natural lube to breed it go in easy, so acquire some KY or anothe water based lube and see if that doesn't help it as economically.
