I in recent times get an copper IUD inserted yesterday, is this typical?
i got an IUD fitted yesterday and the Dr told me expect some cramping which i was expecting anyway, but i am still having really painfull cramps today so im purely wondering if this is normal to have prolonged cramping even a day after insertion?
Best Answer: I have cramping for almost a week but I am totally happy that I went with the copper IUD. As for the girl who said it be old fashion, I don't tolerate any kind of hormones ably and Mirena has hormones so I understand why some people pick Paragard. Plus on the bright side contained by lasts for 10 years instead of 5! Everyone I've talked to that has paragard have said that the first couple of months with it is a little uncomfortable. You own some cramping and of course heavy periods but if you can bring back past the first 2-3 months you will be happy that you stuck it out. Who wants to move about back to have a different one inserted just to find out that you might own the same or different problems with that one. Good luck and try not to rush into any decision to enjoy it taken out without first talking it over completely with your doctor!
Answer: Yes it is run of the mill for the next few days. If you are still in the same amount of cramp you was in on the day you get fitted tomorrow, and it hasn't eased in the slightest, then walk back to the doctors.
Yes it's mundane, but why have the old fashioned Copper IUD when you can have the Mirena.. I'm not advertsising or anything but that item went out with the Arc.. It also gave me repeated Infections, the Mirena is much better.

I had the copper IUD and im not suggesting you get it removed however I had one for almost two year and didn't hold many problems however the last few months before I finally have it removed I got so many infections and had so much dull pain, not during period. I had it removed and eveything went away almost directly. as far as your cramping that is completely normal for the first few days, you may even have some bleeding if you don't already. flawless luck and i hope it works better for you than it did for me...Related Questions...
