Expired Birth Control?

So I am on the birth control pill Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo and I just realized that I am taking a pack of pills that expires in May. I started the pills within the middle of May so I was wondering if they are still effective even if they expire the month that I am taking them? PLEASE HELP because I have be having unprotected sex...My period isn't supposed to come until next week so I'm really waiting to see if it comes beforehand I start to panic.
Best Answer: You will be just fine. The expiration date is chosen by the company specifically to let them be sure they will still be significant through the date printed on the package. Even if the potency is slight less than optimum, as long as you have be taking them for more than a month, and have taken this pack as directed, you are not at risk. It normally takes two or three months after you stop taking the pill previously your body actually ovulates on it's own. So you can relax. Just make sure to check those dates when you pick up a unsullied refill to be sure you will take them before they expire.
