Bladder not empty after childbirth?
Hi
went to the doctors today and described my bladder problem. She said i will have an ultrasound but it sounds as though my bladder isn;t emptying properly from the stress of childbirth (although I have a "normal" child birth).
Anyone else have/had this? what happened with you?

I don't really want anyone to diagnose me I just want to know what happen with others who had this problem. Did they get it fixed and if so, how?
Best Answer: O.k. I have a c-section after a 30 hour labor, but I still have this issue. It seems like I never hold a truly empty bladder. My doctor says its normal. I class of think that once your bladder has been kicked internally for 9 months, it probably never go back to the way it was previously.

Mine wasn't from childbirth, but IC (Interstital Cistitis). Basically, the lone thing that helped me was a Cystohydroscopy. Basically, they put you underneath sedation, blow your bladder up as full as possible with water, and then release it. This resets your bladder. This may not be the lone solution, but be prepared for lots of catheterizations in the coming months!! (They may do a stress test too - and peeing in front of others isn't fun!)
